Proof PAN Card Documents for Both Individuals and HUF

What Proof of Identity Document Can Be Used for Pan Card Application

Below is a list of documents that can be used as proof of identity for the PAN card application. You can submit any one of the document described in the list below as proof of identity document. (The document that you choose to use as proof of identity must be at least 3 months old):

(1) Xerox copy of any one of the documents you choose as proof of identity and make sure to sign your signature on it:

    1. UIDAI issued Aadhaar card
    2. Voter ID Card
    3. Driving License
    4. Passport
    5. Ration Card
    6. Arm’s license
    7. Photo ID card that is obtained from the central/state government/PSU
    8. Pensioner’s photo ID card
    9. Health scheme card issued by the central government. The Ex-servicemen health scheme photo ID card can also be used

OR

(2) If you don’t have any of the document above to use as identity proof, you can use a certificate that has the signature of an MP/MLA/MC/gazette officer.

OR

(3) Original bank certificate that includes the applicant’s photo. It should include a letter that bears the stamp and signature of the chief of the particular bank branch. It must states the applicant’s bank account no.

Attention:

If the applicant is a minor, the parent or guardian will be responsible in providing the proof of identity document.

HUF must obtain an affidavit from the karta. The affidavit must states the name, and address. Additionally, you also have to provide one of the proof of identity document that is listed above.

What Proof of Address Document Can Be Used for PAN Card Application

(1) Xerox copy of one of the documents below that includes your own signature

  1. Aadhar card
  2. Voter id card
  3. Driver license
  4. Passport
  5. Passport of the spouse
  6. Post office passbook with address
  7. Most recent property tax assessment order
  8. Domicile certificate
  9. State or central government issued letter of accommodation
  10. Registration of property document

(2) Provide one of the documents listed below (should be recent and not more than three months):

  1. Electricity bill
  2. Broadband connection or landline connection bill
  3. Water bill
  4. LPG gas connection card or book or gas bill of piped gas
  5. Bank account statement
  6. Depository account statement
  7. Credit card statement

(3) Or the original certificate of address that bears the signature of the MP/MLA/municipal Councillor/gazetted officer in the appropriate format.

(4) An original copy of the employer’s certification

What Proof of Birth Date Document Can Be Used for PAN Card Application

Use any one of the documents below that states the birthdate of the person who apply for the PAN card:

  1. Aadhar card
  2. Voter ID card
  3. Driving license
  4. Passport
  5. Matriculation certificate or report card issued by an established board
  6. Certificate of birth that is obtained from the local municipal or any other office that is authorized in issuing the birth and death certificate.
  7. A photo ID card that shows your date of birth and must be obtained from the central/state government or PSU
  8. Government issued domicile certificate
  9. Photo ID card for the health service scheme
  10. Pension payment order (PPO)
  11. Marriage certificate obtained from the marriage registrar
  12. Affidavit confirmed by oath in front of a magistrate that states the birthdate
