How to Use Pan Number to Verify the Pan Details and Assessing Officer
You just have to enter the PAN number when you want to verify the pancard details of the person. The pancard data may not be same as the data stored in the ITD database since a name that is different than that of the ITD database is allowed. Thus, the pancard holder cannot be completely sure about his pancard details in the ITD database.
What Does the PAN Number Look Like?
Prior to verifying the pan details, you should go through the PAN number and check if the first five digits and the tenth digit are uppercase letters and that the sixth to the ninth digits are numbers, for instance, ABAPM5943K. When verifying your pan by using number, all you need to do is to enter the pan number. Once you have entered the pan number, you can enter the Captcha code and click on the Submit button. Once you have click the submit button, it will return the pancard holder’s name as well as the information about the Assessing Officer (ITO) responsible for the jurisdiction.
